LocalSpider is designed for local-first file search. This page explains the data collected by the website waitlist and the difference between website data and product file search.

Product positioning

LocalSpider is designed as a desktop file search product that indexes and searches files locally on your computer. The website waitlist does not process your local files, filenames, file contents, or search queries.

Waitlist data we collect

When you join the LocalSpider waitlist, the website asks for your name and email address. You may also leave an optional product suggestion. The waitlist form also records your browser user agent when available, which helps basic operational debugging and abuse prevention.

How we use waitlist data

We use waitlist information to send LocalSpider launch updates, manage early-access interest, understand product suggestions, and maintain the waitlist. We do not use waitlist form submissions to inspect your local files.

Website analytics

The website uses privacy-friendly page analytics to count visits and understand which public pages are being viewed. The analytics setup is not intended to collect form field values, uploaded files, local file data, or product search queries.

Your files

The LocalSpider website waitlist is separate from the LocalSpider desktop app. The product is positioned around local-first file search, where file indexing and search are designed to happen on your device rather than through website uploads.

Removal requests

You can ask to be removed from the LocalSpider waitlist by emailing [email protected] from the email address you used to sign up, or by clearly identifying that email address in your request.
